Requirements for Recycling Ceiling Tile

What ceiling tiles can be recycled?
- Types of ceiling material comprising: Approved Ceiling Material
- All brands of pulpable mineral fiber ceiling tile materials (panel or tile form. Metal splines must be removed from tiles.)
- Optima (Armstrong fiberglass only)
- Painted nubby

Non-acceptable Ceiling Materials:
|
- Vinyl or Fabric face ceiling materials*
- Foil backed ceiling materials*
- Ceiling materials with visible wood pulp
- Armstrong Artran (cardboard like face)
- Moldy or weathered ceiling materials
- Asbestos containing ceiling materials
- Ceiling materials installed below friable asbestos or
contaminated with any other hazardous material.
- Ceiling materials with paint
not applied by manufacturer
- Ceiling materials not packaged according to
Armstrong Specifications
- Ceiling materials which contain visible debris
(garbage, construction waste)
- Vinyl Gypsum ceiling
